6 x 47 Lapua Match Reamer - 115 gr Bullets

The 6 x 47 Lapua match reamer below was designed for highpower rifle competition by Robert Whitley and Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool.  The reamer was designed to permit the shooting of the DTAC 115 gr. 6mm bullets with the cartridge.  Since the 115's have a very long bearing surface, the freebore of the reamer is .070" longer than the one on the reamer for the 85-107 gr. bullets.  This reamer has a "no neck turn" neck of .275" (about .005" over a loaded round ).  You can still shoot bullets in the 85-107 gr. range with this chamber, although they will sit further up in the neck of the case.  The chamber was designed so that the junction of the boat tail and bearing surface of the 6mm 115 gr. bullet is forward of the junction of the neck and shoulder of the case.  In addition, the body of the case is tighter than the body of the standard CIP chamber.  For those wanting to buy this reamer, or if you want something custom made to your particular requirements, call Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool (541) 826-5808.  The drawing number of the reamer below is Pacific Tool's #9207.

Note:  The reamer below was set up for highpower rifle competition as a "no neck turn" reamer with .005" neck clearance over a loaded round.  If you are going to neck turn you should call Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool if you wish to have a neck turn reamer set up to your precise requirements.
